Established in Braunton in the late sixties by Michael Reed
this small family practice has evolved into one specializing in small to
medium sized projects. Our work covers a variety of areas including, the
extension of private dwellings, loft conversions, the design of
one-off houses, medium sized housing schemes, barn conversions, work to
Listed Buildings and commercial projects, all within the North Devon area.
The practice was joined on a full time basis in 1987 by Michael's son Kelvin
having completed his architectural education at Cardiff University. Kelvin
has since become a full partner, and is now responsible for the day to day
operation of the practice. We are always pleased to meet clients to discuss their
requirements, and do not normally charge for an initial consultation. Our practice is covered by professional indemnity insurance provided by
one of the UK's leading insurance companies, which clients should find

We are now able to
offer computer generated models for most projects. These models can vary
in complexity from a basic external model, right through to an
internal/external model with materials and textures as well as the
ability to walk through the building.
Architectural projects and consequently computer models vary
considerably in their complexity, and so cost and feasibility of
providing a computer model is currently assessed on a project by project
basis.

The conversion of old redundant farm buildings has for years been one of the most interesting type of projects that we have been involved in. Most of the conversions have been used for holiday accommodation, with a few as individual dwellings. With today's strict planning policies it is important that such schemes are sympathetically designed and we have extensive experience of converting traditional farm buildings in the North Devon area.

We have been commissioned to undertake small to medium sized housing
developments, the majority of which have been for Developers from within the
locality.
Over the years we have also been involved with
many clients who have wanted to build their ideal home. Normally we find
that clients have some overall idea or concept on what they require from
their home and we can take these initial ideas and help them in developing
their dream through to reality.
Our services range from just obtaining
the necessary local authority approvals through to helping you in choosing a
contractor and contractually running the project to its completion.

Extensions and alterations to
dwellings have always formed a major part of our work and no two projects
are the same.
With today's strict Planning Policies and the ever changing
Building Regulations, early advice can sometimes save abortive work. We
are always pleased to meet clients at an early stage to discuss any ideas they may have. In most cases there is no charge for this initial meeting and once we
have an idea of the type and extent of your project, then we can normally provide
a quotation for our services.
We can also advise if Planning Consultants and Structural
engineers are required to assist with a project, and have contacts with fully qualified and experienced consultants if
necessary.
